Pregnancy Week 6
Baby Development
By this week, your baby will be the size of a sweet pea. The baby looks like a tadpole, curled up in the fetal position, and has a little tail. The baby’s head and face are developing, starting with the cheeks and jaws. The heart of the little one has begun beating and can be seen on the ultrasound. There are small dots on either side of the head, which would develop into ear canals later. Similarly, dots in the front of the face turn into eyes and nose. Besides that, the baby’s kidneys, lungs, and liver have taken shape.
Changes in mother
The mother would be feeling nauseous and would be having frequent urination. It is because of the increase in the blood flow to the pelvic area and the rise in waste removal efficiency of the kidney. The mother would also start getting indigestion and heartburn, continuing until delivery. Avoid spicy food and citrus foods, and don’t wear tight-fitting clothes.
