Pregnancy Week 14
Baby Development
Your baby has nearly twice the weight that the previous week. The baby has now grown to 3.4 inches and weighs almost 1.5 ounces. The baby has developed muscles on the face and can smile. `Another significant change this week is the development of genitalia. Though the genitals are fully grown, it’s difficult for an ultrasound to read the gender accurately. Hence, you need to wait a little more to know if your bundle of joy is a boy or a girl.
Changes in mother
Congrats on entering the second trimester of pregnancy. Many changes happen in this phase and are typically the “honeymoon phase” of the entire nine months of pregnancy. There would be bellyaches as your uterus expands to cater to the fast-growing baby. You would also put on a few pounds. You would be feeling much more active, hungry, and a lot less nauseous. As such, it’s a good idea to start doing light yoga or going for a stroll.
